The Speaker of the Akwa Ibom House of Assembly, Onofiok Luke, has expressed his support for Ekemini Ekerette (Kemen), who was disqualified from the Big Brother Naija house on Sunday night. Kemen was disqualified for going against house rules and asked to leave. Kemen had been caught on tape fondling Tboss without her consent. Tboss was asleep when Kemen carried out the act. Luke admits he was not following the reality show before the incident, but insisted that it was not easy to be in the spotlight. He also expressed surprise as to how fans of Kemen, who is from the state, quickly turned against him after the eviction. This is as he described the growing tension over the health of the president as “purely unnecessary”. CBN TO RAISE 1.13trn from treasury bill in Q2

The Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) plans to sell N1.13 trillion worth of treasury bills between March 16 and 1 June, according to a debt calendar issued by the apex bank. The CBN aims to auction N243 billion in 91-day bills, N198 billion in 182-day and N689 billion in 364-day debt. The regulator sells treasury bills twice a month to help fund the government’s budget deficit and support commercial banks in managing liquidity.

US PRESIDENT DONALD DUKE GIVES THREE MONTHS BANN TO 6 MUSLIM COUNTRIES

President Donald Trump has signed a new executive order placing a 90-day ban on people from six mainly Muslim nations. Iraq - which was covered in the previous seven-nation order - has been removed from the new one after agreeing to additional visa vetting measures. This takes effect on 16 March. The previous order, which was blocked by a federal court, sparked confusion at airports and mass protests. Presented as a means to strengthen national security against terror threats, it was blocked by the courts and effectively remains on hold.
